The Army Musician Proficiency Assessment (AMPA) provides the minimum score necessary for a Noncommissioned Officer Education System qualification and accessions. During the assessment, applicants must demonstrate their musical ability through creative phrasing, dynamics, and supported sound throughout the instrument’s range. Moreover, they must demonstrate that they are able to produce a range of sound with minor intonation and articulation errors.
Before applying for the ACASP, applicants must first complete AIT. Then they must successfully complete their proficiency training at USASOM. Upon successful completion, the RC unit commander may award the MOS to the applicant.
